Land-use planning is important, even though you might not give it a lot of thought. After all, it’s a very boring process that has been going on for years under your radar.
Why should you start caring about it now?
Because a handful of people have authored a new comprehensive land-use plan, and the Monroe County commissioners are going to vote on it soon. This is important because such plans are the foundation of future local ordinances that will affect you, whether you’re looking to buy a house, find a job, grow a business or sell land.
